Email Customer Service

Often it is easier for you and for us to receive technical support requests via email, since you can send us detailed information on what you're having trouble with and we can respond during off hours. We've often found it difficult to get in touch with working professionals via telephone during office hours.

Email is also the best way to send us additional information, in particular supportive backup files, report/graph exports, etc, that we can use to help expedite problem resolution. A picture may be worth a thousand words, but so is a backup file containing the exact data with your given problem.

Downloading Patches

We are committed to keeping Food Smart up to date. In addition to our annual upgrades, we also offer registered users free software patches, containing fixes and minor improvements to issues that we discover or are reported by our customers during each year.

As a registered user, you are eligible to receive software patches three ways:

1.  By downloading the latest patches using our Active Update service.

2.  By downloading and installing the patches manually.

3.  By contacting us directly by phone or email to request the latest patches.

Helpful Hints

Here are some suggestions for how you can get the most out of Food Smart and avoid frustrating situations:

  If analysis values don't seem correct, double check the food items you have chosen. If everything
      still looks correct, the best thing to do is fax us a copy of reports/graphs you are seeing and email
      us a copy of your backup file so that we can attempt to reproduce the analysis on our side.

  Always keep a backup copy of your data, just in case the worst happens.  At the very least, this

      gives us something to look at when a major failure occurs, such as a bad hard drive corrupting an

      important data file.

  Sometimes understanding the technical details behind our software will help shed light on your

      current situation.  Why not take a moment and review the technical white papers we have published

      which discuss in detail some of the more technical aspects of Food Smart.
